For this final, it was to create a skateboard design to promote Urban Life. I felt having the effect of a sticker, fitting, as youths use them as "tags" and that becomes apart of urban life. The sticker is a vector whilst the illustration is a combination of hand drawn and Photoshop brushes image. I felt the paint dripping with the text was suitable as it made the whole look consistent. Below are two photos the finished design; printed off and mounted on a skateboard.

Comic Book Research
For the research of the comic book brief, I researched comic book heroes and different drawing styles. One of my favourite outcomes is the Wolverine and the Hulk. With the Wolverine drawing, I added colour to the fineliner drawing; with also pencil shading. With the Hulk drawing, I used fineliner and was my first experiment at using pencil shading with it.
Comic Book Cover
This is a photo of my journal which is showing you the final and the computer development. For this brief I again took my own pictures. The hands drawn are from observational drawings of my own. The best outcome with it was the biro drawn hands, which I then manipulated on the computer. The brief was to create a comic book cover based on a film, book or television programme. I chose the film Blade Runner; with experimenting with the typography, I created my own font, (as seen below) though after it was completed, I decided on using the original font.
Visual Arts Poster
This was my idea for my college's End of Year Art Show. You may have noticed the illustration from somewhere else. I decided to use this in the final as it is slightly contemporary and, in my opinion, a good representative of Visual Arts. Though, this was done on another brief as an inspired work, I decided to change the colour scheme; I used black and red as they are the college's colours. I feel this attempt worked out better than the original.
Typography
This my favourite typographical piece of work. For this brief, I had to choose a font and create poster, if you will, to promote it. This should explain the reason for the word "Aller". This was created by using Adobe Photoshop, with which I used textures and floral brushes.
This is my stop-frame-animation for which I used Adobe After Effects. For this I researched into different forms of animation, from clay-mation to a Zoe-trope to a flip-book. For the brief, I had to base my animation on myself; for this I decided to take a light-hearted approach and base my animation around a nickname my classmates gave me. For the animation I first drew out my stock images, then edited them on Photoshop.
The story behind ManMan: He was bitten by a radio-active man, so now he has all the powers of man. His superhero custome, a pair of jeans and a t-shirt from G.A.P. His greatest enemy - Anything That Needs Doing.
Development
These skulls where development for my Skullcandy brief, with these I experimented with biro pens, pencil and fineliners.
David Despau was one of the artists I researched into, and my inspirational work for him has been one of my favourites. I first used a mixture of blue and black biro. Then to finish off I used Adobe Photoshop to add different brushes to it.
Another artist I research was Paul Insect. What caught my eye about his work was a collection of his pieces that where of dead iconic figures, though had a different turn on the representation. I chose for my inspired piece to have Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, Pete Doherty, Freddy Mercury and Kurt Cobain; all of these have died, except Pete Doherty which I decided to do as a request from a friend, who is a fan of his work.
Skullcandy
These are two of a number of development pieces for my Skullcandy brief. The brief required me to create a pair of headphones and an ipod design. I first drew out my idea in fineliners, then added colour using the software adobe Photoshop.
I wanted to show you the origin of my illustration above. For the project I wanted my own style of clowns; this is what gave me the idea of using myself as a basis. For an experiment, I used image manipulation to create the image of the left; bringing out certain colours as the red on the smile.
Album Design
The piece was to design an album cover for a band/artist based on an influence.
For this, I chose the style of the album "Appeal To Reason" by the band, Rise Against.
This is the record design for the album. I used the same images from the album for consistency; with the use of their logo faded into the background.
